I
was going to use yellow cedar for the floorboards, but
it is rather heavy compared to red cedar, so I went
with the red cedar. The floorboards have been rough
finished. I tried them in situ to see how they will
look. I left a gap in the middle floorboard behind the
CB case so that I can get the base of a hand pump down
onto the keel. I will finish the floorboards with oil.
It will be a lot less slippery than shiny wet varnish,
and easier to touch up scuff marks later.
